FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridization) is a cytogenetic technique that is used to detect amplification or polysomy of DNA sequences on chromosomes. FISH is employed to identify patients in personalized healthcare (PHC). A prominent example is the use of HER2 testing in trastuzumab therapy, see recent oncology guidelines for more information.
The team of BIOMCON gained long-term experience in data analyses of readings from FISH images, different scoring strategies and their implied clinical endpoint. Since a couple of years the team of BIOMCON develops computer based reading of FISH images.
